Please review the following instructions to help you care for your new service. If you have any questions or concerns, just ask!
- After 24 hrs, use clean fingers or a gently wet cotton swab.
- Apply a thin layer of the provided ointment to the procedure area using clean fingers or a cotton swab.
- Apply the ointment at least 2 times per day or whenever the area feels dry for 7 days.
- Avoid any eyebrow product such as a brow pen or powder for the first 10 days.
- Avoid workouts or sweating for 7 days.
You are the most important factor in the healing process!
- The color will be several shades darker during the days following the procedure and it may take several weeks before the final color is achieved. Do not panic!
- Do not apply makeup near the procedure area.
- Scabbing may occur 2–3 days after the procedure. Do not pick at it as this will pull the pigment out.
- Sunlight will fade your microblading. Protect new microblading with sunglasses, hat, or visors.
- Avoid tanning, pools, hot tubs, saunas, lakes and oceans. No submerging the area in water for at least two weeks post-procedure.
- Put clean sheets and pillowcases on your bed. Avoid sleeping on your stomach until the color is healed in.
Long-term care instructions
- Protect your investment from the sun by wearing hats, visors, and sunglasses.
- Keep in mind that chemical peels, exfoliants, products used for acne, and anti-aging products (Retin-A, glycolic/lactic acids, AHA, etc.) can adversely affect your microblading results. Unless you are a label reader, a product containing an unwanted substance may end up in your cabinet, so it's important to keep in mind.
- Avoiding the area of your microblading is the only assured way to protect it from products.
- Laser treatment done near your microblading can drastically lighten the color.
- Many factors such as lifestyle, skin type/tone, products used, medication and sun exposure will affect the time between touch-ups.
- The average person will need a touch-up every 12–18 months. This is because natural, finger hand-strokes are used which will not penetrate into the dermis as deep as it might be with a tattooing machine.
- After 24 hrs, wash the area with tepid water and gentle soap. You may use clean fingertips or a cotton swab.
- Apply a thin layer of the provided ointment to the procedure area using clean fingers or a cotton swab.
- Apply the ointment at least 2 times per day or whenever the area feels dry for 7–10 days.
- Cool compresses will assist in reducing swelling. Ensure a barrier such as a clean thin washcloth is used between your skin and the ice. Ice can be left on for 15–20 minutes at a time, 4–6 times per day.
You are the most important factor in the healing process!
- The color will be several shades darker during the days following the procedure and may take several weeks before the final color is achieved. Do not panic!
- Do not apply makeup for 72 hrs near the procedure area. New eye makeup should be used after the eyeliner procedure. No eyelash curlers for 2 weeks.
- Swelling is completely normal and may cause the design to be distorted.
- Scabbing may occur 2–3 days after the procedure. Do not pick as this will pull the pigment out.
- Wash hands thoroughly before touching the procedure area. Your permanent makeup tattoo has broken your natural barrier, leaving it susceptible to infection.
- Sunlight will fade your tattoo. Protect new tattoos with sunglasses, hats or visors. Using a higher SPF sunscreen is a must after the tattoo heals.
- Avoid tanning, pools, hot tubs, saunas, lakes and oceans. No submerging the area in water for at least two weeks post-procedure.
- Put clean sheets and pillowcases on your bed. Avoid sleeping on your stomach until the color is healed in.
- Consult with your doctor on using an OTC anti-inflammatory medication to assist with pain relief and swelling for a few days post-procedure.
Long-term care instructions
- Protect your investment from the sun. Wear hats, visors, sunglasses and use an SPF sunscreen.
- In Michigan, tattoo facilities are strictly regulated; therefore, you should not have to wait a year after a procedure to donate blood. Be sure to include the procedure on your paperwork and discuss it with your intake worker when donating.
- There is much controversy regarding tattoo pigments and MRI machines. Be sure your physician and the MRI technician are aware of your permanent makeup procedure.
- Note that chemical peels, exfoliants, products used for acne, and anti-aging products (Retin-A, glycolic/lactic acids, AHA, etc.) can adversely affect your permanent makeup. Unless you are a great label reader, a product containing an unwanted substance may end up in your cabinet. Avoiding the area of your permanent makeup is the only assured way to protect it from products.
- Laser treatments done near your permanent makeup can drastically lighten the color.
- The average person will need a touch-up every 3–5 years. Many factors such as lifestyle, skin type/tone, products used, medications and sun exposure will affect the time between touch-ups.
- Microblading usually requires a touch-up every 12–18 months. This is because finer hand strokes are used, which are usually not quite as deep into the dermis as with a tattooing machine.
