Kristan's journey in the beauty industry began with a bachelor's degree in Textile Design and Merchandising Management from Michigan State University. Her education continued at the Douglas J. Aveda Institute of Lansing. She boasts a diverse portfolio, enriched by her training with world-renowned academies like Aquage, Surface, Goldwell, and more. Her stylist certifications extend to a variety of specialties, including Raquel Welch Wigs, Great Lengths extensions, Brazilian Blowout, and many others.
Awards and recognition are no strangers to Kristan. She received the prestigious Beacon Award, a recognition bestowed upon the top 50 stylist students in the United States. Aveda Institute recognized her outstanding makeup applications in 2006. In 2015, her work reached the finals in the nail category at NAHA, the world's largest hair competition.
As an International Design Artist with Neuma, Kristan educates hairstylists and students in advanced up-styling and cutting techniques. She currently serves as the US Director for Kemon, an Italian-based color company, where she imparts her wisdom on color trends and cutting techniques, helping grow a team of stylists in the US Market. Furthermore, she operates her own educational platform, The Hair Trainer, offering online education in hair techniques, salon management, and more at www.thehairtrainer.com.
In 2009, Kristan embarked on her entrepreneurial journey, establishing K Bella Hair Studio & Spa. She also introduced an Academy Program to train future cosmetologists. In 2016, she became the State Representative for licensing regulations to protect the beauty industry from potential legislative changes. Kristan, along with her husband Ben Sayers, initiated the Michigan Association of Beauty Professionals (MABP) in 2017, which gained significant momentum during the COVID-19 pandemic. This non-profit organization advocates for the beauty industry, striving to elevate industry standards in Michigan, and it has initiated a petition to encourage legislators to require continuing education for beauty professionals.

Whether it's wigs, hair loss, or vibrant fantasy colors, Kristan's continuous learning and dedication make her a go-to expert in the field. She's renowned for her color and cutting corrections, a product of her profound knowledge of chemistry and geometry in cosmetology.
