Kristan Sayers Honored With Reappointment to State Cosmetology Board

I am honored to have been reappointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on December 4, 2025, to continue serving on the Michigan Board of Cosmetology. This reappointment allows me to further support the growth, integrity, and professionalism of the beauty industry across the state.

The Michigan Board of Cosmetology plays a vital role in protecting public health and safety by regulating professional standards. As a board member, I join a group of nine - five licensed cosmetologists, one cosmetology educator, and three public representatives - charged under Public Act 299 of 1980 with licensing and regulating cosmetology practice in Michigan, including oversight of hair care, skin care, manicuring, esthetics, and related services.

My experience as a salon owner and master stylist gives me a practical, real-world perspective that I bring to this role. I am committed to supporting strong licensing standards, advancing continuing education, and strengthening career pathways for current and future beauty professionals.

I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving, and I look forward to contributing to the future of the cosmetology profession in Michigan.
